Hopes For Positive “Legacy” For the Supreme Court are STARK

By Robert Sexton — STARK!– as in Scalia, Thomas, Aliota, Roberts, and Kennedy.  How these five justices vote on the Affordable Care Act in June will more than likely “ice” the legacy that they will be remembered for in the storied annals of Supreme Court and jurisprudence history.

If they over-turn more than a hundred years of precedent, as the Supreme Court did in the 2000 presidential election, Citizens United, and now the Affordable Care Act, they will be remembered for being a Supreme Court as morally corrupt and judicially compromised as the Supreme Court that rendered the Dred Scott decision in 1857, which led to outrage, and — ultimately — the Civil War, which settled the issue once and for all — or at least for 260 years.  With this court, all bets — and all precedents are off.  Go, you Supreme Court “judicial-activists”, you!

The predictable rejoicing by the extremists in the GOP if the Supreme Court over-turns the Affordable Care Act will be viewed by history as tantamount to the Ku Klux Klan crowing with glee over the Dred Scott decision in 1857.

In summary, these particular right wing creeps and political hacks have out-lived their value in the great struggle toward a more enlightened culture and civilization on earth,  and the aspirations of the American people to build a more perfect union in the United States of America.  It’s tragic!  Impeach the despicable scoundrels!
